Kermit Mother Dead Following Tire Blowout

A mother was fatally injured Monday afternoon after her tire blew out on interstate 10 near Van Horn, Texas.

About the Fatal Tire Blowout

The El Paso Times reports Bertha Alicia Olivares, 40, of Kermit, Texas was killed after her Ford Expedition experienced a blowout, left the road, and rolled over.

Authorities stated the accident occurred around 1:10 p.m. about 10 miles east of Van Horn. Oliveras and her 1-year-old daughter, Yarezly Lucya Olivares, were both transported to Culberson Hospital. Olivares died of her injures.

Yarezly was treated and released to her family.
