Kraft Velveeta Products Recalled – Undeclared Allergens and Misbranding
A Kentucky firm has recalled approximately 1.77 million pounds of “Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillet-SINGLES-ULTIMATE CHEESEBURGER MAC,” due to undeclared allergens and misbranding.
About the Velveeta Product Recall
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Services (FSIS), Truitt Bros. Inc. is recalling approximately 1.77 million pounds of shelf-stable pasta and ground beef products due to undeclared allergens and misbranding, which could cause serious illness or death.
During a recent routine quality check conducted by the firm, the firm contacted FSIS after a label supplier inadvertently mixed labels containing incorrect ingredient lines with labels containing correct ingredient information.
FSIS and the firm have received no reports in connection to the consumption of the products.
Description of the Recalled Product
- The products were produced between May 6, 2013 and Jan. 16, 2014 and shipped to Kraft Foods distribution centers and retail locations nationwide.
- The products were distributed in 3.3 pound cases containing six, 9 ounce microwaveable containers of “Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets SINGLES-ULTIMATE CHEESBURGER MAC.”
Affected products carry the UPC code 2100004329 and the following case codes:
