The Dallas Morning News is reporting that an accident on the southbound lanes on Interstate 35 stalled traffic early Sunday evening near Hickory Creek, Corinth, according to police.

The accident involved three vehicles, including two 18-wheelers, and happened at about 4:15 p.m. and stopped traffic from Lake Dallas to south Denton, according to the Denton-record Chronicle.

During the accident, one of the 18-wheelers caught fire, according to the Corinth Police Department. The accident also caused a fuel spill, which closed all southbound lanes near Lake Dallas Drive. The interstate was closed for several hours, but was reopened by 9:30 p.m.

The initial accident involved a passenger car and an 18-wheeler. The driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to have been life-threatening. The driver of the 18-wheeler declined treatment at the scene of the accident and told authorities he was not injured.
