Jonathan Hernandez8 months ago

A Lakeland woman has died after her vehicle crashed into a tractor-trailer Sunday morning at around 5:50 a.m.

Details about the Accident with the Tractor-Trailer

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that 28-year-old Idania Cazarrubis was driving her 2000 Jeep SUV headed east on State Road 600, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Meanwhile, 50-year-old Raymond Harris of Plant City was headed west on that road in his tractor-trailer carrying dairy products.

The SUV then veered into westbound traffic and hit the tractor-trailer which caused a fuel tank to rupture, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sergeant Steve Gaskins.

Gaskins also stated in a press release that the fuel tank caught fire for a short time.

Cazarrubis was pronounced dead at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where she was taken following the accident. Harris, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was not injured.

At this time, it is uncertain what caused the Jeep to move into the other lane.
