Large Truck Accident in Bexar County Kills One

One person was killed in a violent crash on Interstate 10 in northwest Bexar County.

Details about the Fatal Accident

News 4 San Antonio is reporting that one person was killed during a major accident in the far northwest portion Bexar County. According to police, deputies were called to the scene of the major accident at Interstate 10 and Fair Oaks Parkway at around 9:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Witnesses who were at the scene of the accident said that the driver of an 18-wheeler had slowed down the vehicle due to construction on the roadway, but the driver of a sedan failed to slow down in time and crashed into the back end of the big rig.

The impact of the sedan and the tractor trailer was so powerful, that the back wheels of the truck came off. The driver of the sedan was died on impact and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There are no other reported injuries in the accident.

The driver of the 18-wheeler is not facing any charges at this time. The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed for a time while crews cleared the scene of debris, but have since been reopened.
