In Newark, a 27-year-old man has been charged following an aggravated assault on a police officer.

About the Incident

According to New Jersey local news, Rafael Perez was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly driving without a license and proceeding to strike a police officer in his vehicle. The police officer was left injured as the assailant fled the scene.

The victim’s lawyer asserted that serious bodily injury occurred. In addition to this, Perez is also facing charged with assault by auto, aggressive driving, and causing injury while driving without a license.
