Man Dies in Sun Valley Construction Accident
Idaho Mountain Express reports that one man died and three others were injured after a construction accident occurred in Sun Valley. The fatal accident took place at Diamond Back complex in Sun Valley Resort.
About the Sun Valley Construction Accident
Several Gonzalez and Sons Building Contracting framers were tending to the second floor of an unfinished townhome in Diamond Back complex when a two-sided dry wall divider collapsed on top of them.
46-year-old Ricardo Ayala-Martinez was pronounced dead shortly after the calamity. Three more individuals were extracted and cut out from the dry wall that entrapped them, and received medical treatment at the site of the accident. The men survived, suffering various severe injuries. Four others were released from St. Luke’s Wood River hospital with no major injuries.
The Idaho Division of Building Safety and Sun Valley’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration Division arrived to Sun Valley on Friday evening to investigate the circumstances of the construction accident. They project to have the investigation completed within the upcoming months.
