Man in Wheelchair Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver

Houston authorities are search for a driver who struck a handicapped man in a wheelchair and then fled the scene.

Details about the Hit-and-Run Accident in Houston

KRTK News in Houston is reporting that a man in a wheelchair has died after he was hit by a vehicle in northwest Houston on Tuesday.

Police have said that the accident happened at around 11:19 a.m. on Tall Willow Drive at North Houston Rosslynn Road. The 65-year-old victim was attempting to cross the street to visit a Sonic restaurant when he was hit by the vehicle.

According to investigators, the person who was driving the car that hit the man fled the scene of the accident and left the man there to die in the middle of the road.

Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage taken of the accident from several local businesses. It is believed that officers do have a description of the vehicle but are not releasing it at this time.

The manager of a gas station near the scene of the accident says that the man frequently crosses the busy road by himself.
