Man Killed by Dump Truck in Boston

A Boston man was struck by a dump truck and killed while shoveling snow on Sunday morning.

Details about the Pedestrian Accident

The Boston Globe is reporting that police responded to a report of a man that was hit by a vehicle on Sunday at around 11:18 a.m. in Dorchester near Harbor View Street.

Police found the victim underneath a Mack dump truck and scrambled underneath to reach the victim. A witness said that the man’s left foot was tangled underneath the truck. Firefighters, a medical examiner, and other officials all worked at the scene which shut down Dorchester Avenue on both sides of Savin Hill’s Ryan Playground for several hours.

Police could not release the identity of the victim due to the ongoing investigation.

Witnesses and other people who live near the scene of the accident say that the intersection where the accident happened is a dangerous intersection and that many other people have been hit and hurt there before. The intersection currently has no traffic lights or stop signs.
