Man Killed in Accident on Lewisville Lake Bridge

A man from Denton was killed after he was hit by a car near Lake Lewisville.

Details about the Fatal Accident

CBSDFW is reporting that a man from Denton was killed after he was hit by a car and knocked into Lake Lewisville on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the vehicle that was being driven by 64-year-old Gholamrez Sabzghabaei had stalled on the Interstate 35 Bridge at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

When the man was calling for help, another van slammed into the stalled vehicle, which then knocked the man over the rail of the bridge and into the water below.

Witnesses at the scene of the accident jumped in the water and were able to bring him to the closest shoreline, where her attempted to perform CPR until emergency crews arrived and took over the lifesaving procedures. Ultimately, the man died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the van is listed in serious condition at the hospital but has yet to be identified.
