Man Loses Arm While Working at Walmart Distribution Center

Officials in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania have said that a Walmart employee has lost his arm in an accident at a distribution center in Pennsylvania.

CBS News has reported that as of January 6, the man remained hospitalized after the accident that happened on December 30. Walmart spokeswoman Erica Jones did not release the worker’s identity or give any other details.

Pocono Mountain Regional Ambulance Operations Director Denise Doremus said that the accident happened at the Walmart Distribution Center in Tobyhanna.

According to Doremus, the victim’s arm was put on ice and he was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Scranton. A helicopter was called in but had to be cancelled due to weather conditions.

Spokeswoman Jones further said that the safety of Walmart workers is the company’s top priority and that the company is also fully supporting the victim and his family.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is currently investigating the accident.
