Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle accident that left at least one person injured on Friday.

Man Seriously Injured After Flipping Vehicle Multiple Times

On the morning of Friday, July 31, a man was transported to hospital nearby when he flipped his car near Gold Canyon Road in San Antonio, Texas.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the man was driving on Loop 1604 when he hit the guard rail. The vehicle he was driving spun and flipped multiple times before it came to a stop upside down on the 281 flyover ramp. Emergency responders were called to the scene around 1:15 a.m.

The man was sent to the hospital in serious condition. A woman was in the passenger seat when this all happened, but officials have released no word as to her wellbeing.

  • 3,408 people were killed in auto accidents in 2013 – a .26-percent decrease from 3,417 deaths recorded in 2012.
  • An additional 232,599 people were injured in auto accidents in 2013 with 16,807 people reporting serious injuries.
  • Single vehicle accident accounted for 1,347 deaths, 39.52-percent of all motor vehicle deaths.
  • TxDOT estimates one person was killed in an auto accident in Texas every 2 hour and 34 minutes in 2013.
