Man Steals Vehicle, Drives Drunk, Causes Accident

An accident in San Antonio involving a stolen vehicle left three people in the hospital on Saturday night .

Details about the Major Accident

FOX News San Antonio is reporting that a major accident in the Northwest Side of San Antonio on Saturday night left three people in the hospital. The accident happened just before 10 p.m. on Loop 410 near Ingram Road.

According to police, a man, who had been drinking at the time of the accident, stole a minivan that had belonged to his grandfather and caused an accident at Callaghan Road. The incident resulted in the minivand losing a tire.

After losing the tire, the man kept driving and ultimately ran a red light at Loop 410, causing him to hit another vehicle in head-on.

Emergency first responders had to cut a mother and her daughter out of the other vehicle. Both the mother and the daughter were taken to University Hospital with multiple injuries.

The driver of the stolen minivan was also taken to the hospital with multiple injuries and is facing multiple charges including DWI, stolen vehicle, and other intoxication assault charges.
