Metabo Electric Angle Grinders Recalled – Laceration Hazard
The Metabo Corp. has recently recalled approximately 4,300 electric angle grinders due to a laceration hazard.
About the Electric Angle Grinders Recall
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the on/off switch can get stuck in the “On” position, posing a laceration hazard to consumers. Two reports of the angle grinder switches sticking in the “On” position have been received by Metabo; however, no injuries have been reported. CPSC recommends that consumers stop using the recalled electric angle grinders immediately and call Metabo to make arrangements for a free repair or replacement.
Description of Recalled Electric Angle Grinders
- The recalled product involves Metabo W14-150 Ergo series 6-inch medium angle grinders. The angle grinders have a green body, a black and red handle, and a silver head and wheel guard.
- The angle grinder’s model numbers include 06251421 and 06251441, and its serial numbers include 3010000001 through 4020031488 for both models. The model and serial numbers are located on the rating plate on the right side of the tool.
- The products were distributed by industrial, construction and welding distributors to consumers from March 2013 through April 2014 for about $220.
