Midland Pedestrian Critically Injured in Accident

News West 9 is reporting that a Midland man is in the hospital suffering from critical injuries after a late night accident in which the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the Midland area.

Details about the Midland Pedestrian Accident

According to police, the accident happened just before 11:30 p.m. on Monday evening near the intersection of Wadley Avenue and Midland Drive. Police also stated that an investigation into the accident revealed that the victim was crossing Wadley Avenue when he was struck by a Volkswagen Jetta which was traveling east and had a green light at the time of the accident.

At this point in the investigation, it is unknown whether or not the man was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident. According to a release from the police department, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with police.

The man who was hit was taken to a Lubbock hospital via helicopter. The name of the man has not been released at this time and no charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
