Modesto Construction Worker Killed in Accident
A construction worker in Modesto was killed in an accident when he was hit by a falling metal beam.
Details about the Construction Accident in Modesto
52-year-old Jose Magana, of Stockton, was identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office. Magana was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident at about 8:42 a.m. at the construction site, according to the coroner’s office. The official cause of death is still pending.
The state Division of Occupational Safety and Health, known as Cal-OSHA, has been investigating a report that the victim was hit on the head by a falling beam or something similar, according to agency spokeswoman Julia Bernstein.
The investigation is ongoing and the details about the accident have not yet been precisely determined.
Magana was working for a concrete subcontractor for the project at the time of the accident.
