News 4 San Antonio is reporting that a rider of a moped was seriously injured in an accident in which he collided with an 18-wheeler on a busy highway access road.

According to police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10, near Camp Bullis at about 10 a.m. on Monday morning. Witnesses of the accident told police that the driver of the tractor-trailer was attempting to turn into a construction site when the driver of the moped hit the truck from behind. The moped driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Several lanes of the access road in the area had to be block while crews worked to clear the accident. The incident remains ongoing at this time.
