MorningStar Farms Recalls Black Bean Burgers

Jasmine Roziers2 years ago

MorningStar Farms, a Kellog subsidiary, has issued a recall for its Spicy Black Bean and Chipotle Black Bean burgers due to an undeclaried allergen. The spice used contains peanuts and consumers were not warned on the products' ingredient statements about the allergen.

About the MorningStar Recall

According to KARE-11, a spice used in the MorningStar Spicy Black Bean and Chipotle Black Bean burgers contains peanut, but the products do not have a peanut allergen warning on their ingredient statements.

The lack of the warning puts those with a peanut allergy or peanut sensitivity as a risk of suffering a serious, potentially life-threatening reaction.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reports that there have been no illnesses reported with the connection to the recall.
