“My husband ran out, he saw a car engulfed in flames and a man running around the car wanting to get his family out. He was in such shock we just had to pull him away. He lost his whole family in five seconds because somebody couldn’t stop.” – witness Lori Pierce as published LA Times.

The LA Times reports that the vehicle carrying the mother and her four children was struck by another car at the intersection of Excelsior Avenue and South Marks Avenue in the community of Riverdale, south of Fresno, thrown into a nearby lawn and immediately burst into flames.

The mother, who has was not identified, was driving with her two sons, 1 and 3, and two daughters, 6 and 11, at the time of the crash. All five of them were killed in the collision.

The husband and father of the family had been driving behind victims in another car. The man reportedly tried to rescue his wife and children from the burning wreckage before witnesses pulled him away from the blaze.
