Details about the Collision with the Tractor-Trailer

KVUE News is reporting that the accident happened in Smithville, Texas, when the driver of a truck that was towing an over-sized load is responsible for the accident that happened that killed the mother and the son on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the driver of the truck did not have the proper permit to be driving down a two-lane road with such a large road. At around 4:50 p.m., Deborah Beck, her nephew, and her two sons, were driving in a Dodge Durango headed west on FM 535 when they accidentally crashed into the tractor trailer.

Beck and one of the sons, Blake Anthony, died at the scene of the accident. Beck’s 13-year-old son and the 6-year-old nephew were both taken to the Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin and they have since been released from the hospital.

The tractor trailer was carrying two mobile homes that were 16-18 feet wide each, on a road in which the lanes were both only 10 feet wide.

Charges against the driver are currently pending, but it could take as much as 30 days before the police know exactly what charges the truck driver might be charged with.
