Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Friday Morning Crash

Two people in Florida have been injured in a crash involving a motorcycle.

Details about the Accident Involving the Motorcycle

FCN News is reporting that two people have been injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in Starke in Clay County on Friday morning, according to authorities.

At about 8 a.m., a Chevrolet Spark was heading south on County Road 225 when the driver of the car attempted to turn left onto State Road 16 and hit a motorcycle that was going through the intersection, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown out into the road and the vehicle that hit the motorcyclist then traveled into the unpaved part of the highway and hit a sign, state troopers said.

The Florida Highway Patrol further revealed that the motorcyclist was taken to Shands Starke with serious injuries, while the driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the medical center with only minor injuries.

Troopers did not indicate whether or not the motorcyclist was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident.
