Multi-Vehicle Crash in Greenwich County PA Kills Three

State police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash in Greenwich County, PA that killed three people, according to WFMZ News.

  • The accident happened at 1:15 p.m. on the eastbound side of Interstate 78 near mile marker 41.4 in Greenwich Township, PA.
  • A tractor-trailer was attempting to pass a slowed box truck in the right lane when the semi struck a car and set off a “chain reaction” collision involving those three vehicles and at least three others.
  • Some of the vehicles in the crash caught fire. Emergency crews from Lehigh and Berks County responded and extinguished the blaze.
  • Three people have been confirmed dead. The driver of the tractor-trailer was also taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for chest pains and routine blood testing.
