Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills 1 in San Antonio

The San Antonio Express-News reports that one of San Antonio's main highways was shut down last Tuesday due to a multi-vehicle crash which resulted in the death of one driver.

Details of the San Antonio Accident  

Around mid-afternoon, the driver of a work truck parked his vehicle on the shoulder of the highway to complete his work on the roadway, at which point a second vehicle crashed into the parked truck, then a third vehicle struck the second accident vehicle.

Although the First Responders on scene attempted to provide first aid, the driver of the work truck had to be aerially transported to a local hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the wreck. Local law enforcement, including an accident reconstruction team, are currently investigating the incident. No criminal charges have been filed as of yet.

  • Nearly 500 pedestrians were reported killed in a motor vehicle accident on Texas roadways in 2013, this accounted for only a 1 percent drop in deaths from the previous year.
  • Of all people killed in motor vehicle accident deaths, over 44 percent were reported as not having utilized safety belts.
