San Antonio Driver Sentenced to 54 Years for Repeat DWI

  • 54 year old Donald Huff was found guilty of a fourth DWI charge on Thursday, September 26th which as a result of other felony charges has pressed Susan Reed, District Attorney for San Antonio, to place him in prison for life.
  • The DWI charges come in light of both a felony murder charge for the death of Arlene Kay Harding-Watts as a result of a drunken motorcycle accident in August of 2009 and probation for manufacturing a pipe bomb for a methamphetamine cook.
  • Although EMS technician Kevin Norman testified in trial that Huff was trying to place Harding-Watts on the motorcycle, Huff admitted that he was the one driving the motorcycle to Police Officer Mark Morales.

  • Huff was found to have a BAC of .17 percent as tested by San Antonio police.
  • 70 percent of all alcohol-impaired driving fatalities involve drivers that have a BAC above .15 percent.
