About the Waco Collisions

Two drivers were transported to the Hillcrest Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a head-on collision that occurred on East Loop 340 around 4:05 p.m.

KCEN News Waco reports that, according to Waco Police officers on the scene, a dump truck was travelling west when it collided with a Ford F-350 that was pulling a trailer and headed east. One of the vehicles crossed the median, but at this time it is not known which vehicle crossed over into the other lane.

During the shutdown after the first wreck, while crews were cleaning up, there was a second crash down the road with four other vehicles. Another dump truck was trying to slow down on the loop when it slid and hit a car, causing a chain reaction involving a Ford Taurus, Toyota Prius, and a Nissan Murano.

Three people involved in that chain of collisiosn were also transported to Hillcrest Hospital, none of which had any serious injuries.

Waco police further stated that they didn’t expect any citations to be issued.
