WJLA News is reporting that five people were injured, two of them critically, in a car accident that happened on Monday on Old Alexandria Ferry Road in Maryland, according to authorities.

Police from Prince George’s County have indicated that the call for the accident came in at about 7:40 p.m. After a preliminary investigation into the accident, it currently appears that the two vehicle crashed in a head-on collision that involved a sedan and a pick-up truck.

According to police, the sedan that was involved in the accident only had one person in the vehicle, and that person was taken to a local hospital via helicopter with life-threatening injuries. Police stated that the truck was carrying four occupants. Two of the occupants had minor injuries, while one of them suffered serious injuries, another suffered from critical injuries.
