One man was killed in an accident that happened in an industrial park.

Multiple sources are reporting that a man was killed in an early-morning accident that happened at Syracuse Haulers in an industrial park in DeWitt, according to DeWitt Police.

An employee of the company, which is at 6223 Thompson Road in DeWitt was taken to Upstate University Hospital via ambulance with a critical head injury after the 7:45 a.m. accident, DeWitt Police have stated.

The DeWitt Police Chief has indicated that the man died from his injuries a short time after he arrived at the hospital. Scanner reports stated that a dumpster fell off a truck and then landed on a person. Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration have stated that they were told that an employee was hit by a piece of equipment.

The name of the victim has not been released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
