An Odessa man died after being involved in a collision on Tuesday on State Route 13.

Details about the Fatal Accident

The Star Gazette is reporting that a man from Odessa died following a collision that was likely caused by icy road conditions on Tuesday morning.

According to the authorities, the New York State Police responded to a call of a head-on collision at Montour Falls near the Chemung-Schuyler county line on Route 13.

The New York State Police indicate that a small vehicle was heading south on Route 13 when a tractor-trailer was heading north down the hill. The driver of the UPS truck lost control of the truck due to the slick conditions of the road, hit the vehicle, and caused the vehicle to go under the trailer.

The driver of the sedan that was hit by the UPS truck has been identified as 58-year-old Glenn Marsh. The victim suffered major head trauma and was transported to the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital on Sayre, Pennsylvania. The man later died of his injuries during the overnight hours.

The driver of the UPS truck has not been identified, but was not injured in the accident.

Icy weather and poor road conditions were listed as the cause of multiple car accidents in the area on Tuesday.
