Odessa Man Killed in Midland Industrial Accident
Authorities Investigate Midland Farmer’s Co-Op Death
According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, 77-year-old Monty D. Daniels III was last seen alive around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. On Monday morning, Daniels was found dead in truck trailer under an overflowing pile of cotton seed.
In a press release, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office stated that they believed Daniels was attempting to un-block a jam in the cotton gin with a stick when the accident happened. He was pronounced dead at 9:58 a.m. Monday.
It is unclear if Daniels was employed by the co-op or a different company. An autopsy has been scheduled.
