Office Depot Recalls 300,000 Chairs for Fall Hazard
Office Depot has issued a nationwide recall for about 300,000 chair units due to a fall hazard.
About the Office Depot Executive Chair Recall
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Office Depot recalled 300,000 Crawley II executive chairs sold at Office Depot and OfficeMax retail stores nationwide and online from October 2012 through September 2015 for about $140.
The recall was announced after Office Depot received eight reports of the seat plate weld cracking or breaking.
Consumers can contact Office Depot to receive a free replacement seat plate that they can install at home. For further assistance, consumers can contact Office Depot at 855-743-7701 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET through Monday and Friday.
Chairs Affected by the Office Depot Recall
The following information was provided by the CPSC:
- Recalled units are part of the Crawley II executive chair product line.
- The units are black with high-backs and have a black base with five wheels.
- The affected chairs have Office Depot SKU number 493822 or OfficeMax item number 23324118 and “US REG. No. PA 25917(CN)” printed on a label underneath the cushion of the chairs.
NOTE: Consumers are urged to discontinue use of the recalled chairs immediately.
