On-Duty EMT Killed in Trucking Accident

According to a reporter for Daily Tribune, firefighter and emergency medical technician Daniel Hampton was killed after the ambulance he was driving struck a semi-truck around 9 p.m. September 18.

About the Fatal Accident

The collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of Texas 29 between Bertram and Liberty Hill. Hampton sustained fatal injuries and two other passengers of the ambulance sustained critical injuries.

Reports indicate one of the injured was a paramedic by the name of Timothy Pierce. The other passenger was a patient whose name has not been released.

As a precaution and standard safety procedure, The Texas Department of Public Safety shut the roadway down for numerous hours.

The Texas Department of Public Safety helped with the accident investigation; crews took care of a potentially hazardous fuel leak.
