At least one person is dead following a five vehicle collision involving a FedEx truck in Montgomery County on Thursday.

Details of the Conroe Truck Crash

According to KHOU, the southbound lanes of Interstate 45 were shut down just north of Conroe following a fatal trucking accident at FM 830 around 5:25 am.

Authorities believe a car struck the rear of the FedEx truck, causing the tractor-trailer to flip onto its side. Three other vehicles then struck the fallen 18-wheeler.

Authorities confirmed that at least one person died in the accident, but have not yet released the victims name or which vehicle the victim occupied. The conditions of others involved in the wreck were not released either.

The freeway was reopened shortly after 10 a.m.
