One Dead in Texas Trucking Accident

A report by The Eagle states that a resident of Bryan, Texas was killed Thursday morning after being involved in a three-vehicle accident.

Details of the Three Vehicle Collsion

The Texas Department of Public Safety officials stated 59-year-old driver Paul Sterling was driving westbound on Texas 21 when his vehicle lost control and crossed over the median and collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The DPS mentioned that the a third driver, 33-year-old Sofia Chavez-Villeda, tried to avoid the accident and veered into a ditch.

Unfortunately, Mr. Sterling was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Louis Garcia Jr. after 11:30 a.m. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Randy Ramirez, 41, was free of injuries, and Chavez-Villeda sustained minor injuries.

  • 526 traffic fatalities were linked to head-on collisions in 2013.
  • An additional 232,599 people were injured in auto accidents in 2013 with 16,807 people suffering serious injuries.
