Details about the Fatal Trucking Accident

ABC 11 News is reporting that an accident involving a minivan and two trucks took the life of a woman on Tuesday evening.

According to police, the accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. on Capital Boulevard near Burlington mills Road in Wake County. Authorities further stated that a dump truck that was towing a Bobcat bulldozer rear-ended a 2004 Toyota Sienna, which caused the minivan to rear-end a 2011 Freightliner tractor trailer that was traveling in front of it.

The minivan was then wedged between the two trucks, which killed the driver. The driver has been identified as 42-year-old Michelle Simone Barlow of Wake Forest. Investigators believe that Barlow was either completely stopped or had begun to slow down at the time of the accident.

Charges are currently pending against the driver of the dump truck who rear-ended the minivan.

The drivers of both of the trucks were taken to Wake Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of another vehicle that was involved in the accident was not injured.
