One Killed, Another Hospitalized After Overnight Accident in Florida

A fatal accident happened during the overnight hours in Tallahassee on Wednesday.

Details about the Fatal Florida Accident

WTXL News is reporting that an accident happened overnight in eastern Leon County took the life of a man who was originally from Jefferson County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, 65-year-old Stephen Woodward, of Monticello, was heading west on Mahan Drive, near the intersection of Wadesboro Road when, for some reason, he drove across the median and collided head-on with another vehicle. The 65-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol have indicated that the driver of the other vehicle, Jeffrey Stump, escaped the accident with only minor injuries and is currently being treated for minor injuries at the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Officials have said that both of the drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
