Details about the Fatal Accident

KHOU News is reporting that a driver currently faces intoxication manslaughter charges after a passenger in his vehicle was killed in an accident that happened along the North Freeway late on Wednesday evening.

According to officials from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at about 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday along the feeder road near the intersection of Grand Parkway. That’s when, according to police, a Toyota vehicle with two young males was heading south at a high rate of speed on the feeder road.

As the driver approached the Grand Parkway Intersection, there was a Chevrolet Tahoe with a female driver that was starting to cross the intersection when the traffic light turned green. The driver of the Toyota tried to avoid her by swerving to the right, hit a curb, and lost control of the vehicle. The Toyota then hit a light pole, splitting the car in half. The passenger was ejected and killed at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital in stable condition and found to have been intoxicated. The other driver was not injured.
