One person was killed in an accident that happened in Beaumont.

Details about the Fatal Multiple-Vehicle Accident

KHOU News is reporting that Beaumont Police, emergency first responders, and hazmat crews were called to the scene of a four vehicle accident that involved an 18-wheeler, and shut down Highway 96 for several hours on Wednesday.

According to authorities who were called to the scene of the accident, the crash happened on the southbound side of Highway 96 near Delaware Street at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday. Authorities have indicated that the accident involved two cars, an 18-wheeler, and a motorcycle.

Police from Beaumont have confirmed that one person was killed in the accident, but the identity of that person has not been released pending notification of family and next of kin.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was later released. The other people involved in the accident were not injured.
