One person was killed in an overnight accident that happened on Friday.

Details about the Fatal Accident

WSET News is reporting that one person was killed in an overnight accident that happened in Madison Heights. Virginia State Police have confirmed that one man was killed in the accident that happened early Friday morning.

Virginia State Police have identified the man as 36-year-old Keith Harris.

Police received notification of the accident right after midnight on Friday, about a vehicle that had gone over the guardrails on South Amherst Highway, near Middleton Circle. State police further indicated that the vehicle was a 2015 Ford Focus that was heading north on Route 163 when it went off the road and hit the guardrail.

After the vehicle hit the guardrail, it then overturned and hit several trees.

Virginia State Police, the Lynchburg Police Department, and the Lynchburg Police Department all responded to the call. The scene was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
