Details about the Fatal Police Chase Accident

KSAT 12 News is reporting that one person was killed and another 10 others were injured on Sunday evening just north of Laredo in a police chase that ended in a fatal crash.

US Border Patrol agents report that the chase began at about 5:30 p.m. when agents spotted a suspicious truck that was driving north along Interstate 35 access road about 37 miles north of the city of Laredo. Agents attempted to stop the vehicle when the driver sped off.

Officers attempted to use tire deflation devices to stop the chase, but the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid the device. One person was killed at the scene and 10 others were taken to hospitals in Laredo, San Antonio, and Dilley.

At this time, Border Patrol agents are investigating why the driver did not stop the vehicle and decided to evade police.
