One Killed, Two Injured in Single-Car Accident

A man has died after being involved in an accident near Madisonville.

About the Fatal Accident near Madisonville

KBTX News has reported that a father has died after being involved in an accident near Madisonville on Saturday morning.

According to Department of Public Safety trooper Jimmy Morgan, the driver of the vehicle in the accident, 40-year-old Bradley Mackens of Normangee, was headed east on Highway 190, when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree.

Mackens was killed as a result of the accident, and his two other passengers, his wife Jessica, and their 12-year-old son, Joseph, both sustained life-threatening injuries. Jessica and Joseph were both transported to and are currently being treated at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

The official cause of death is still uncertain; however, Trooper Morgan says the road was dry at the time of the accident. Trooper Morgan also said that none of the victims in the truck were wearing their seat belts.
