One Man killed After Falling Down Embankment

One person died on Monday after falling down an embankment on Interstate 385 following an accident in Greenville which involved a police officer.

News 7 is reporting that one person died after falling down an embankment in an accident involving a police officer.

According to police, a Greenville Police Officer was responding to a call about an accident on interstate 385 near Villa Road when another car slid on the roadway and hit the police officer’s cruiser.

The cruiser was pushed and hit two people that were involved in the original accident that the officer was responding to. One person died at the scene and two others were hurt, including the police officer.

28-year-old Clayborn Dallas Jester was standing on the side of Interstate 385 west at the site of the first accident. Jester was forced over the concrete retaining wall when after the car hit the police cruiser. Jester fell down the embankment on Villa Road.

Jester was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Greenville Police Department and the Greenville County Coroner’s Officer.
