One Man Killed in Chicago ATV Accident

One man was killed in an ATV accident on the southwest side of Chicago.

Details about the Fatal ATV Accident

WGNTV News in Chicago is reporting that a 49-year-old man was killed in an accident that involved him crashing his all-terrain vehicle on the southwest side of Chicago.

According to the Chicago Police Department, the accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday on the 6200 block of South Austin Avenue. Police have further indicated that a man drove his four-wheeler through a stop sign and then hit another vehicle. The impact of hitting the other vehicle knocked the man off the ATV.

The man was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The identity of the victim has not been released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.

According to police, the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, which remains under investigation.
