FOX 17 News is reporting that one person was reported to have been in serious condition on Friday morning after a two-vehicle accident that happened in Kent County, and shut down an area to keep out traffic while police investigated.

The accident reportedly happened at about 6:30 a.m. in the area of Jupiter and West River Drive in the Plainfield Township. According to police, the silver car, which was being driven by a 19-year-old man, crossed the center line and hit a red pickup truck in a head-on collision. The truck flipped and the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but was later upgraded to serious condition. The teenage driver of the silver car was treated at the scene and then released.
