One Woman Killed in Accident on Interstate 575

State police in Georgia are currently investigating a fatal accident that blocked Interstate 575.

Details about the Fatal Georgia Accident

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that that the Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating a fatal accident that happened on Tuesday morning and blocked all of the southbound lanes of Interstate 575.

According to a news release, the Cherokee County Fire Department responded to an accident that happened just south of Exit 14 in Holly Springs at about 7:30 a.m.

According to firefighters, a black Ford SUV went up onto an embankment, hit some trees on the side of the road, and rolled onto its side, pinning the driver underneath the vehicle,

Authorities indicated that the driver of the vehicle appeared to have been in her twenties but did not release any other identifying information about the driver. 

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to firefighters and emergency crew members.
