Jonathan Hernandez4 months ago

One person was killed in an accident that happened in National City.

Details about the Fatal Accident

CBS 8 News is reporting that a woman was walking along Interstate 5 in National City when she was fatally hit by a vehicle on Monday.

According to authorities, an older model Honda Accord crashed into the pedestrian on the northbound side of the freeway, near the exit for Division Street at about 4:15 a.m. The California Highway Patrol further stated that the driver of the Honda pulled over after the accident and called for help.

Due to the accident, the California Highway Patrol had to close three of the northbound lanes in the area and the onramp from Eighth Street, according to authorities. At this time, it is not known why the woman was on the interstate, and it does not seem likely that the driver of the Honda will face any charges since they did stop to render aid.
