A pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run traffic incident in Las Vegas on Friday.

About the Las Vegas Hit-and-Run

The Las Vegas Sun reports that the 50-year-old pedestrian was crossing Meikle Lane around 1:30 am when he was struck by a white van.

The pedestrian was rushed to University Medical Center, but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His name has not been released.

Police state that the driver of the van failed to stop at the scene of the accident and fled southbound on Ringe Road. Police stated the cargo-style van likely sustained damage to its front right.
