Pedestrian Killed in Longview Crash Identified

Authorities have identified a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a truck in Longview, Texas Tuesday afternoon.

Details of the Fatal Accident

According to reports from KETK, 77-year-old Robert Shimeld sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Glencrest Lane and McCann Road.

The driver of the truck, Philip Latham, was turning left on to McCann Road from Glencrest Lane when Shimeld stepped in front of his vehicle. Shimeld was transported to an area hospital for treatment where he later died.

Authorities have not cited Latham for the accident.
