Pedestrian Killed in On the Job Accident

One person was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident that happened on Monday.

Details about the Motor Vehicle Accident

12 News is reporting that a man remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car while working to reopen a highway that was closed for construction early on Monday morning.  All lanes on southbound Loop 101 were closed at 90th Street after the accident.

According to investigators from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a crew with a construction barricade company was working to remove the barricades and reopen the southbound lanes after a construction closure. Just before 3 a.m., one of the members of the crew was hit by a black Chrysler in the HOV lane.

The man was transported to the hospital in critical condition at the time.

As of right now, the condition of the man is unknown.
