Pedestrian Killed in San Diego Accident

FOX 5 San Diego is reporting that a man was killed after being hit by a vehicle on a residential street and thrown more than 100 feet by a pickup truck, according to the Chula Vista Police.

Details about the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

A black Toyota Tacoma was traveling north when it hit the man on Hilltop Drive near Main Street at around 9:40 p.m. on Monday evening. The driver of the vehicle that hit the man initially drove off but returned to the scene of the accident a short time later.

The victim was killed at the scene of the accident despite the efforts of emergency crews to save his life. The victim as then identified by family members as 37-year-old Marcelo Sanchez.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the victim was not immediately taken into custody, and an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is pending, according to police.
