Pedestrian Killed Trying To Cross Katy Freeway

A car struck a pedestrian trying to cross Interstate 10 in Houston, Texas on Monday night. He died at the scene.

Details of the Fatal Pedestrian Accident

According to the Houston Chronicle, around 11:20 p.m. Alexander Hauser attempted to walk across the Katy Freeway near the Grand Parkway and was hit by a 2000 Toyota Avalon, according to deputies.

Hauser went head first through the car’s windshield, landing in the front passenger seat. His legs were severed below the knee due to the force of the impact.

The driver, according to Chon.com, was cut in the face. Responders took him to a local hospital. Officials have yet to release the state of the driver’s condition.

Deputies will continue to investigate the crash.
